Yesterday, a group of friends and I had a close call. We were coming back picking up some promotional goods when the person driving missed a stop sign and did not stop on time only to found himself in oncoming traffic. We hit a car which swerved off the road and the driver had a quick reaction to keep driving as the oncoming traffic was coming towards us.

Except for some bumps on the cars and some sore necks, nothing happened and we’re all fine especially the driver of the other car who only found himself inches from a tree. Needless to say that he was way luckier than we were.

I guess that I was reminded how precious this life is and how I must be ready to give it back to the One who gave it to me. But in the meantime, I am thankful to Him to have spared my friends, the other driver and I.

In my books, summer 2005 is gone. Definetly one of the most interesting summers I have had in my life. For starters, now I do understand why people here go crazy when summer starts. After months of being trapped indoors, they just let go.

Did meet intereting people this summer too. Of course, people I would have never thought to start hanging out with. Nevertheless, they bring out the best of me (some brought out the worst which was rather educating cos I never get to see my mean side).

This summer I did not get to go away a lot because I was booked solid in Montreal. For instance, I played 14 of the 31 days of August! That’s a lot. No wonder why I am feeling funny inside. But with the colder temperatures kicking in and the summer places closing down, the schedule will become less hectic and I will be able to take a break.

Now, I know that the curious readers are wondering what’s happening with the ladies… All I can say is that this summer was certainly intense. I will leave it at that to excite your curiosity. If you really want to know, ask me next time you see me lol
I really should get off my bum and go purchase autumn clothes because I have none and I find that in this city you need to.

Hope you ha da good summer and to all my southern hemisphere friends, hope winter did not depress you too much. At least, the heat is on for you guys!

Yes, Today is my birthday. Not many people know it because I feel funny when people are happy to tell me that basically, I am old!

But in all seriousness, I thank God for another year on this planet and for the health, wealth and amazing people that He’s put it my life.

What am I going to do today? Well, it’s business as usual. I guess that some people will call me and send me presents which of course I will appreciate but other than that, it’s yet another day.

I just realised that I am an adult and that for now on I have to act serious. I hope I manage to pull this one off!!!

Thanks to all you guys who read the blog! Feel free to post your comments below each post that I make. I did not know that so many ppl read it lol.

Two years ago, I landed in the city of Montreal to start my independant life. To be honest, I only had hope, a full bank acccount and a friend who’d promised me to take care of me while I found my way

After two years, I think that I have become a Montrealer and have even come to call it home. I would like to thank God almighty for taking care of me and allowing me to blossom in my career and life. I just pray that I can remain in the path He has chosen for my life because in this town especially, it’s not easy!

I would like to thank all the people I have met so far for being good to me and for teaching me a lot about life through their perspectives and experiences.

OK, enough sentiments, I need to go enjoy my summer while your southern hemisphere people freeze your butts off 😀

Last night I was working and out of the blue, a power failure. Since it was 1am and way before my bedtime, I put on my coat and decided to go check out the nightclub scene to see who exactly goes out on Tuesday nights

My first stop was at the club I guest DJ every now and then.

There was a hip-hop party were a bunch of college kids were hanging out.

As I walked in and stood in a good spot to see people in action, I realised two things:

1) I am old

I have run away from this fact for a while but last night was the tipping point. I seemed to be one of the oldest people in the club and since the legal age to enter a nightclub is 18, I can say that a 5-6 year gap is huge

2) It’s all about fun

These kids were having fun on whack music on a whack soundsystem but they seemed to be in paradise. They were among friends and having fun. I could see some couples making out which is typical of nightlife newbies.

It also made me realise that I should start meeting the needs of these kids and keeping a good ear on their ground because they’re tomorrow’s generation and trend setters. Since I don’t want to be left behind by being irrelevent, it’s a must decision

I do not understand how there could be a power failure (to get back to the situation that pushed me to go out in the first place). I thought it never happened in developed countries!

So, my sweet youngest sister is moaning that I do not post anymore and she’s wondering what’s happening as she’s a fervent reader…

I am fine actually. Ever since the year began, the going has been smooth except for a silly business mistake that cost me a substantial amount of money but thank God for giving me a gift of not panicking and trusting in Him as it seems that I rebounded quite well and am back to my old self.

Spring is here. I actually don’t care about Spring. I am just chuffed that Winter is over. This summer I will go crazy as I did not go out much the last couple of months.

What else?

No, I still not have a girlfriend, how come that’s the number one question that people are asking me? And no, I am not sleeping around… wait a minute, define “sleeping around”? lol. Now I have you confused, curious cookie? lol

How am I doing with my new year’s resolution? Well, I am actually doing well. Not excellent but I am trying to maintain them. What about you?

It’s funny how listening to challenges that the people you care about start rubbing off you.

This has been my experience in this first month of 2005. Many of the people close to me are facing tough moments and they sometimes turn to me for advice or moral support. Most times, these are issues I cannot resolve myself but they just need someone to lend them his ears.

I said to myself that the reason I was starting to feel all weird about it was because I was not telling the Maker about these problems. After doing so, I now feel relieved.

Cast your burdens onto Him as He cares for you. If you don’t know who He is, you besta aks somebody :o)

On another note, had dinner with the Montreal LDD Alumni crew and I must say that these dinners are turning out to be a whole lot of fun! Thanks guys for being the extended family

Before I sign off, just want to say that I miss the good company I had over Christmas. You will know who you are. Take care and hope that 2005 is starting off on a good note

Welcome to 2005!

2004 is come and gone. Almost everything was perfect but it was a good year. I just hope that this time around, I can only get closer to my dreams and my goals as I actively pursue them.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you, dear reader, a happy, blessed and prosperous 2005.

I am still in Montreal, enjoying life and am slowly but surely learning to live with the cold weather.

You want to really know my 2005 resolution?

To become a better witness. If you are a believer, you will know what this means. As for my plans, I pray that I will be able to DJ more out of town, travel outside of Canada and save enough capital to acquire my own home and automobile. But I guess, I need to include passing my driving license if I want to be allowed on the streets of Montreal.

On a personal level, I plan to look after myself and make it a full-time job. I am 25, this body is perishable and thinking about the victims of the Tsunami, I can only deduct that life is so fragile and when I go home, I will need to be accountable to my Maker as to how, I managed the years that were given to me on this earth.

I welcome 2005 with my head up and pray that it will be a good year for you and me.
